Martindale-Hubbell, a lawyer directory service, conducts surveys of lawyers in a particular area to get their input on the qualifications of specific lawyers, usually those that have been practicing a number of years. This rating is published in Martindale-Hubbell's directories, and on its website, for the benefit of the public.
